Juice Fasting part 1
One of the most powerful therapies for restoring or maintaining health is fasting. Fasting has the following benefits:
1. Detoxifies the body2. Strengthens the immune system
3. Increases lifespan
4. Increases energy store
5. Increases enzyme bank account which tremendously improves total health and vitality
6. Promotes spiritual growth
The fasting I usually recommend is juice fasting with fresh organic juice consumed within 15 minutes of juicing to ensure enzymes activity (alive.) Water fasting can be beneficial also but needs much more physician supervision so I usually do not recommend it.
1. Detoxification
One of the simplest and easiest ways to start a detoxification program for your body is to stop eating and start juicing. This can be illustrated as a smoke-filled room with a fire place and air filter. If the fireplace is no longer being used then no more smoke will enter the room. This allows the air filter to clean the air more quickly of the smoke. Once all the smoke is gone, the air is increasingly purified from dust allergens, pollens, mold, etc. The air becomes more pure the more times it runs through the filter. When we fast with organic juices we shut off any outside sources of chemicals from our food and water and allow our bodies to “catch up on cleaning the house,” just like the air filter makes the room air more and more pure.
2. Strengthens the Immune SystemWhen we do not eat, we do not waste our precious white blood cells’ (WBC) time by making them eat our food. As I have stated and will continue to state, non digested or partially digested food particles that enter our blood stream from maldigestion and malabsorption (i.e., leaky gut syndrome), cause our WBCs to attack it as if it were a bacteria or virus and digest it. The problem is if your WBCs are constantly eating your breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, there is little time for them to eat bacteria, viruses, parasites, candida and cancer cells. This can lead to a drastic weakening of the immune system. Now you can see that the most important thing to do when you want to boast your immune system is to stop eating and start juicing organic produce, especially vegetables and sprouts. Fruit is sweet and great eaten as a snack, but because of the high sugar content it should not be juiced when trying to strengthen the immune system.
